Hi, welcome to my blog!
My name is Haley, I’m a 22-year-old electrical engineer-in-training at a gold mine in northern Ontario. My job involves researching lithium-ion batteries in the context of electric vehicles so that I can help optimize battery use in the mining industry. I’m particularly interested in the field of electrochemistry and the fundamentals of all things battery-related. Boring, right? It’s okay – I won’t burden you with the details of discharge voltage curves and SEI woes.
Why start a blog? Well, I just graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in astrophysics & math, so I happen to be very new to engineering as a discipline (hence “astronomine”). My goal for this blog is to document my experience and progress within my role, mostly for myself – but if you happen to find it interesting, I’d love for you to join me in my journey!
Let’s figure out things, yeah?
